THE DESTINATION

A village of spring, mountain and memory.

Aïn Hamra is not a mass-tourism destination. Here, daily life still follows the rhythms of nature.

Tala Tazeggʷaɣt: the Red Spring

Aïn Hamra is part of Ajdir commune in Taza Province, northeastern Morocco. Its Amazigh name refers to the distinctive iron-rich water. The small lanes and shops also reveal the everyday life behind the celebrated spring.

The heart of the village

Around the spring, cafés, small shops and visitors create a social hub. Beyond the centre, the landscape quickly gives way to mountain slopes and a ravine.

A more personal way to travel

Travel with curiosity and respect. Take time to speak to residents, leave no litter and support people running businesses here.

A village worth exploring slowly

Between the houses, the spring and the paved walkway, you can discover the village at an unhurried pace. Its atmosphere changes with the light and the rhythm of the day. Stop at a local shop and ask before photographing residents: what is a destination for visitors is home for others.
